Erotic Designs Heighten Ballet

By Kirsten

French choreographer Angelin Preljocaj’s Snow White ballet is a delightfully erotic contemporary ballet.

The familiar story ahs transformed from the Disney classic back to its Grimm roots.

What really stands out is the stunning costumes by John Paul Gaultier. More flesh than you’d expect to see in any rendition of Snow White, the evil queen shines in her S and M black leather while Snow White plays up the lacey white costumes.

Gaultier’s costumes put this Disney classic in new, sexy light. His understanding of the female body plays up the ballet and characters.

Following the closing of the ballet, Prelijocaj looks to take on other shows with a new, sexier twists.

Introducing Zahia: A Modern Cortesan & Lingerie Designer

Karl Lagerfeld's Protege & Muse

“I don’t like standard beauty – there is no beauty without strangeness.” -Karl Lagerfeld

Thank you to the HollywoodReporter.com, for the following post:

"Who is France’s hottest new couture lingerie designer? None other than Zahia Dehar, Karl Lagerfeld’s 20-year-old muse and protege who used to be an underage escort in Paris.
When news broke that he allegedly had flown a then-17 Dehar to Germany for a liaison, it sparked one of biggest sex scandals to hit the French sports world.

But the Algerian-born Dehar, now known – like Madonna – only by her first name, was rescued by Lagerfeld, befriended by Jean Paul Gaultier and fashion photographer Ellen Von Unwerth, and was reborn as a luxury lingerie designer.

Dehar now has her own website (of course) and Twitter page.

Lagerfeld calls her a flashback to France's 18th-century courtesans, beautiful well-paid mistresses of the rich and powerful, in "a purely French tradition that the whole world admired and copied."
Her first big lingerie show was in January 2012...."

Coregasm: Orgasm Your Way to Lingerie

Kegels, Kegels, and More Kegels!

By Katie

There is such thing as a "coregasm", or an exercise-induced orgasm, that can happen right in your very own gym. Even better, it can be done SOLO with no equipment!
 Photo compliments of Shape.com

These extra exercises plus a skinny get-up (picture of your most SKIMPIEST lingerie!) will win you the gold medal with your man.

Strengthening the muscles that control an orgasm can actually enhance the sensation for you, resulting in a bigger "aha" moment. Next time you're urinating, stop and hold the flow for 5-10 seconds, exhaling as your contracting and inhaling as you release. You may not be able to hold it very long at first, but with some practice, you'll definitely become a pro.

At the gym when you're doing your core (link back to abs post) work, substitute a hanging leg raise for another exercise. The more repetitions you do, the more "tingly" you'll become.

Thanks for BestAbWorkout.com for the image above.

Beginners- try a supine leg drop to reap the benefits too!

Thanks to ExpressFatLoss.com for the image above.

WARNING! You may want to try this exercise when there's not a lot of people around ;)

Lingerista Lifestyle: Back-to-School Bra Basics

By Kirsten

Back to school time is a special time of year. If you’re in school, there is the excitement of new school supplies and reunions. If you’re a parent, you get the house to yourself and the grind of school activities and needs again.

Either way, it is important to take a moment to fully tackle school supply shopping.

Acknowledge a compromise has to be made between fashion and function. Staples is selling locker chandeliers—not exactly necessary.

(photo taken by me, Kirsten)

However, the glittery notebook is only a few cents extra and is a guaranteed hit with younger girls.

Grab a few necessities, a few fun things and few accessories (there is no need for a full new wardrobe at the beginning of the year, wait a few weeks to see what’s “in” this year).

School should be an easy transition from summer—like the easy transition between strapless and straps with the WACOAL T-Back Convertible Bra ($48). It’ll be a snap!

Tantalizing Trivia: The First Breast Implants in World War II

By Eve

After many questions about breast implants from customers (at Eve's Apples Lingerie Boutique) and readers of the lingerie blog, I've decided to repost my article from October 27, 2008, providing information about the first breast implants. If you or someone you know is thinking about breast implants, read this article first. Also, keep in mind that you are gorgeous the way you are naturally.

In the 1940s, during World War II, breast implants started in Japan's underground. Japanese prostitutes found that American GIs loved large breasted women and would pay more for an endowed woman. Since the majority of Japanese women are not naturally large breasted, many prostitutes had their doctors inject fluid into their breasts. The first fluids tried were saline and goat's milk. Unsuccessful, saline and milk quickly leaked into the body.

What were the other two fluids that were injected into women's breasts, leading the way for the modern day breast implant?

Were they...

  • Paraffin Wax
  • Vaseline
  • Gelatin
  • Silicone
Scroll below for the answer.

Information for our Tantalizing Trivia is from Sexy Origins & Intimate Things by Charles Panati.
Images on this page are from the film, Memoirs of a Geisha. Geisha and prostitutes were seen in a very different light in Japan.

ANSWER:
You are correct if you answered Paraffin Wax and Silicone.

Wax and silicone had mixed results. There were painful and lumpy results with the wax. However, most lasting effects were achieved with silicone. Panati says in his book that, "Determined to have 'American tits,' the girls allowed their doctors to inject Dow Corning's hottest new product, 'insert' liquid silicone, directly into their breasts. Silicone, however, had U.S. military applications, as an insulator, lubricant, and sealant, so the precious chemical was available only on the black market.

Silicone injections worked. The girls' breasts were immediately larger, still soft and pliant, and the fluid did not seem to leak away from the breast tissue into the body (like with saline and milk). By the mid-1940s industrial-grade silicone had become the hottest black-market item in Japan. Large drums of the chemical were mysteriously disappearing from U.S. military bases. The girls' profits were up, GIs were happy. Word got back to U.S. plastic surgeons that silicone was being used in Japan for cosmetic enhancement. Some American surgeons, most notably in Hollywood, began offering silicone injections to film stars and moneyed socialites."

Thus began the hot trend and controversy surrounding breast augmentation.

Lingerista Lifestyle: Mosquito Bites

By Kirsten

Mosquito bite—a dreaded name for small-busted women.

Nothing looks like a bite when you're wearing the Timpa Contour Demi Cup Bra, $51, above.

But now that we’ve found a proper fit for bras, we have to acknowledge we should get rid of the other mosquito bites.

In the summer, lingeristas have enough going on before worrying about unsightly, itchy bumps.

            Forgot your spray?

Some “in a pinch” options for warding off mosquitos are as follows:
  • Carrying a dryer sheet in a pocket or rubbing it on the skin.
  • Vicks Vapor Rub.
  • Listerine.

Nothing works as well as repellant, but for those times in between, it’s best to make due.
